I’m back! Hello again…
The topic for today is “innovation”. This “fancy” word that means a lot, and at the same time, almost nothing. According to the dictionary, “innovation” means:
The action or process of innovating.
Well, it’s not so conclusive… Let’s try again… “Innovating”, so…
Make changes in something established, especially by introducing new methods, ideas, or products.
Still not clear… these definitions are so evasive. In the business dictionary, so…
The process of translating an idea or invention into a good or service that creates value or for which customers will pay.
Damn… it’s not working for me… Let me try to create my own map, based on these definitions.
But, how to bring the real innovation to the companies?
First, I would like to share a video with you. This is a quite old video, but still contemporaneous, once it reflects the real meaning of innovation, and the core concept of the information and sharing era that we are living today. Let’s see:
There are 2 main concepts behind the video, in my opinion.
The first one, is the concept of sharing information. In the information era, just don’t make sense to anyone think that the information is “my precious”, as Gollum said in Lord of Rings.
Then, we have an wide open context, which promotes the content and information sharing.
But well, how to work with that in a structured way?
In my next topic, I will talk about Design Thinking and Gamification.
